Serving Smiles: Delta Dental of South Dakota Volunteers at The Community Banquet

Every Thursday in Pierre, South Dakota, neighbors gather at the Southeast Community Center for more than just a meal. They gather for comfort, connection, and community. And for more than 25 years, Delta Dental of South Dakota employees have proudly played a part in making those Thursday evenings special by volunteering at The Community Banquet.

The Community Banquet is a United Way Partner Agency that provides a free meal to anyone who walks through its doors. Open to all, the Banquet serves an average of 250 people each week, making it one of Pierre’s most consistent and welcoming community resources.

Delta Dental of South Dakota team members love supporting their community

Each year, Delta Dental of South Dakota team members roll up their sleeves and put their core value of giving into action. They help serve meals, clean up, and visit with attendees, all while donating a portion of the food. It’s a day many look forward to, and participation has become a proud tradition for the company.

“Delta Dental has been serving the Community Banquet for several years. I have had the honor of helping with this banquet for many, many years,” says Lynette Wolf, the Professional Review Manager at Delta Dental of South Dakota. “My favorite part is seeing the smiles and knowing they are going to enjoy a healthy meal. The children and adults are always grateful for their meal. This warms my heart knowing I’m giving back to our community.”
