Systems Programmer Analyst

The Systems Programmer Analyst provides application development and maintenance, new project development, systems reporting, and data analysis for the IT department.  

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Plan projects by analyzing and confirming user requirements, studying system capabilities, and completing feasibility studies
  • Design and develop new system functionality through the creation and development of computer applications
  • Secure information by designing access controls
  • Verify results by completing testing and obtaining user approval
  • Prepare users to use the system by conducting training, providing resources, answering questions, and resolving problems
  • Assist with project requirements by working with users during project development
  • Meet information standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Identify work process improvements and assist with implementing new technologies
  • Maintain data dictionary by revising and entering definitions
  • Provide system reference by writing documentation
  • Participate in continuing educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain personal networks, and participate in professional organizations to stay current with trends in the IT field
  • Perform duties/tasks as assigned by the VP of IT to best meet the needs of the program

Experience & qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required
  • Experience in various RPG programming languages, CL, DDS, SQL, and query is desired
  • Web programming experience and knowledge of the iSeries 7.1 is helpful
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-directed, strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organization/prioritization skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
