Job overview

The Systems Programmer Analyst position is responsible for providing the IT department support in the areas of application development, data analysis, and reporting. This includes: application maintenance, new project development, systems reporting and data analysis.

Duties and responsibilities

Application Development

• Create, test, and maintain applications tailored to meet the needs of the organization

• Ensure coding standards and best practices are followed

• Integrate applications with existing systems or third-party services

Data Analysis

• Gather and interpret data from various sources

• Develop and maintain data models to support business needs

• Identify and resolve issues related to process, programming or data

Reporting

• Create and deliver reports that provide insights into system performance, business operations, and other key metrics

• Present findings and reports to stakeholders in a clear and actionable format

Experience and qualifications

• Proficiency in programming languages relevant to the role (e.g., RPG, FREE FORMAT RPG, CL, Java, SQL)

• Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions

• Experience with DB2 for IBMi
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred

• Prior experience in application development, data analysis, or a related IT role is required
